A Presentation For our Community, Parents, & Students.
Please join us for an informative discussion about an alarming trend among middle school & high school students. Learn about the growing use of E-Cigarettes and Vaping.
The US Surgeon General reported the use of E-cigarettes to be a “major public health concern” and “dangerous to youth and young adults.” The use of E-cigarettes tripled between 2013-2014 among middle school and high school students. Now, a new generation of devices has evolved to vaporize nicotine as well as a multitude of other dangerous substances. These latest devices include: the E-pipe, Hookah Pen, Vape Pen, Vaporizer, Vape MOD, Phix, and the Juul.
The presentation will examine the trends, statistics, and risks involved with this new fad. Samples of various devices will be on hand. We will also discuss the possible health risks and dangers associated with this popular pastime, including the potential for damage to the development of the heart, lungs and even the brain.
Q & A: Join the Q & A session after the presentation. Law Enforcement and School Administration officials will be available to help answer questions.
