The Mahwah Municipal Alliance (MMA) is proud to announce a generous donation from the Ramapo College Foundation, made during their outdoor concert series recently. This donation, along with contributions from all our supporters, plays a crucial role in enabling us to continue our mission of serving the Mahwah community.
The Mahwah Municipal Alliance is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to fostering healthy and safe environments for youth and families. Our efforts are focused on substance abuse prevention, promoting mental health awareness, and encouraging positive decision-making among young people. Through various programs and community initiatives, we aim to create a supportive network that empowers individuals and strengthens the fabric of our community.

Pictured at the donation event were key figures from both organizations, including Christopher Romano, VP of Strategic Enrollment, Outreach and Engagement and the Executive Director of the Ramapo College Foundation, Mahwah Police Officer Joseph Alvarez, and Cindy Jebb, President of Ramapo College. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit that drives our collective efforts to make Mahwah a better place for all.
The funds received will directly support several of our key programs, including our Junior Police Academy, Anti-Alcohol and Substance Abuse efforts, and L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) initiatives. These programs are designed to educate and inspire young people, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the challenges of adolescence and beyond.
One of the highlights of our offerings is the Junior Police Academy, which provides an immersive experience for middle school students. Through this program, participants gain insights into the workings of law enforcement, develop leadership skills, and learn about the importance of teamwork and community service. The support from the Ramapo College Foundation will help us expand this program and reach even more young people in Mahwah.
